Royal St. George's Golf Club

This triptych of group portraits was commissioned to mark the 125th anniversary of the founding of Royal St. George’s, one of the country’s most prestigious Golf Clubs, which has hosted the Open Championships fourteen times.

Unveiled in April 2015, the paintings depict thirty-six former presidents and captains, and one dog ‘Inca’.

The task that we set Louise was an extraordinarily challenging one, namely to portray accurately so many people in this painting and I think you will agree that she has achieved this extremely successfully. Louise has not only produced a fantastic record of Club life, but also a really marvellous painting in its own right which I am sure will be admired and enjoyed for generations to come. I congratulate her wholeheartedly. I have been lucky to see the work in progress and I was excited from the moment I first saw it. There is, of course, a great history of golfing art in portraiture but very little has been commissioned in recent times. I can only think of one painting at Muirfield. It says much for the confidence of our Club that we have involved ourselves in a creative project that has turned out so well. We thank Louise and wish her every success with her future career. It has been a great pleasure to work with her.
